Win Tickets to Vegfest London 2014!

vegfest-london-poster

When I went to Vegfest London last year, my bag was nowhere near big enough to cram full with all the veggie stuff I wanted to buy – although I gave it a good go – so this year I’m going to be prepared and take a rucksack with me.

Last year’s Vegfest was a hugely popular event, being almost too busy as I couldn’t comfortably get to look at everything I wanted to. I’m sure the organisers and stallholders didn’t complain about the crowds though. We spent most of the day there, browsing the stalls, having a go on the tombola (I desperately wanted to win a bottle of Choc Shot but failed and ended up with a bottle of cardamom flavoured tomato ketchup instead) listening to a couple of talks and watching a bit of comedy. The only disappointment was the advertised licensed bar wasn’t there. Still, if there had been, I’d probably have spent even more money.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday 27 September 2014 and Sunday 28 September 2014 and tickets are on sale now with advance tickets at £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and free for kids under 16. These are available on buy one get one free until 23 August, and on buy one get one half price until 15 September, at www.london.vegfest.co.uk/ticket-info, or, if you’d like to get in for free, enter my giveaway below.

Giveaway: Win a Hamper of Amy’s Kitchen Gluten-Free Food!

clip_image002

I’ve got an amazing prize to give away to one lucky reader – a hamper bursting with all the Amy’s Kitchen gluten-free goodies you can see in the photo above, namely:

  • cheese pizza
  • Thai red curry
  • cheddar, rice and bean burrito
  • vegetable lasagne
  • chunky tomato soup
  • lentil and vegetable soup
  • Spanish rice and red bean soup
  • dairy-free rice mac and cheeze

The soups I’ve tried and can vouch for their tastiness and if the dairy-free rice mac & cheeze is anything like the Amy’s Kitchen gluten-free dairy version I reviewed here, it will be delicious and just like the ‘real thing’.

I’ve got to admit I’m jealous of whoever wins this as they’ll be getting a pizza and I’ve never seen the pizza in the shops and we all know how much I love pizza.

Win the Amy’s Kitchen Gluten-Free Hamper

If you’d like to win the hamper, simply leave a comment below and I’ll draw a winner at random after the closing date of midnight, Saturday 31 May 2014.

UK entries only.

Giveaway: BFree Gluten Free Wraps

bfree-wraps

BFree make a range of gluten free products including multigrain wraps that are vegan, vegetarian and only 99 calories per wrap. Considering most wraps have over 150 calories each, you’d think the BFree ones would be tiny, but they’re not. I had one for lunch today and filled it with the rather bizarre combination of Quorn pepperoni slices, mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, rocket and mayonnaise. I’d like to say it’s nicer than it sounds, but I’d be lying; Quorn pepperoni and mayonnaise isn’t the greatest match made in munchies, that’s for sure.

bfree-gluten-free-wraps

BFree wraps are coming to Asda soon but if you’d like to try them for free, you’re in luck, as I’m giving away a packet here on Planet Veggie.

How to enter the giveaway

Just leave a comment below, letting me know what your favourite sandwich/wrap fillings are.

A winner will be picked at random after the closing date of Friday, 30 August 2013.

UK entries only.

For more information on BFree, visit the BFree website, or watch this video where the wraps are explained along to the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Help in the search for the UK’s Tastiest Meat-Free Dish

Linda McCartney foods are launching ‘The Search for the UK’s Tastiest Meat-Free Dish’ and they would love for you to be involved. They’re inviting people across the country to help create the next Linda McCartney meal. So get creative and show the UK that meat-free doesn’t have to mean taste-free.

Here’s how it works:

1. From the 15th of November 2010 until 28th January 2011 people can submit their meat-free dish online at www.tastiestmeatfree.co.uk

Each recipe has to meet some simple criteria:

  • The recipe should be a complete dish – preferably no salads or soups.
  • It should only contain vegetarian ingredients, like cheese and stock, and of course – no meat!
  • It has to be tasty!
  • People can also upload a photo

2. In February 2011, the judging panel will select what they consider to be the top 3 dishes, worthy of the title ‘The UK’s Tastiest Meat-Free Dish’.

3. Then, in Spring 2011, each finalist’s home town will be visited to film them making their recipe on the Kitchen Table. The mini-films will go on air in April on ITV. Each finalist will also win a Baumatic cooker worth up to £1,500.

4. ITV’s This Morning viewers will be invited to go online to vote and a winner will be chosen.

5. Each week the favourite dishes will feature on the website, Facebook and Twitter.

6. The winner’s dish will then be developed into a Linda McCartney product, with the winner themselves featured on the box. They will also win a beautiful Titchmarsh & Goodwin hand-made kitchen table, worth £4,000.
