Nakd Bars

Nakd Bars are stupidly healthy. They’re raw, for one thing, and you don’t get much healthier than raw. The cocoa orange one I’ve just this minute eaten only contains dates (40%), cashews (40%), raisins (14%) and cocoa (5%) with a hint of natural orange and chocolate flavouring. No added sugar, syrups or weird things you’ve never heard of.

I should have taken a photo of it before I ate it, as it’s not the most appetising looking product in the world, but ignore the looks – they taste good and that’s the main thing.

The Nakd Bars were sent to me in a box containing seven varieties: cocoa mint, berry delight, cocoa delight, cashew cookie, cocoa orange, pecan pie and ginger bread, plus two packets of raisins (crazy cola and tangy lime). So far, I’ve tried the cocoa orange, cocoa delight and the cashew cookie. Maybe it’s my tastebuds, but they all taste practically the same to me. This could also be because they contain only a hint of flavouring, so the strongest flavour is the dates and cashews, which is fine with me.

Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and raw foodists, Nakd Bars contain 145 calories per 35g bar, and are widely available in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, Holland & Barrett and all leading independent health food shops.
