Hello! I’m Cathy White: writer, virtual assistant and stand-up comedian from London who now lives by the sea in Folkestone.

I’ve been a committed vegetarian for over 30 years and Planet Veggie started as my way to share the joys and quirks of meat-free living.

These days, the blog has grown along with me, branching out into whatever piques my curiosity, from creative projects to everyday adventures.

Armed with a first-class degree in Creative and Professional Writing from Canterbury Christ Church University, I’m passionate about storytelling in all its forms. My stand-up sets often feature a healthy dose of cat jokes – unsurprising, given my affection for all things feline. Lately, I’ve been channeling that love into watercolour painting, where cartoon cats have become my favourite muses.

When I’m not writing, performing, or painting whiskers, you’ll find me at my sewing machine, whipping up my own clothes. I see sewing as a mix of creativity and practicality – plus, it’s a great excuse to add even more colour to my wardrobe.

Planet Veggie is where I’ll share honest reviews, creative experiments, and the odd rant about elusive apricots or the eternal search for the perfect vegan cheese. Whether you’re here for vegetarian tips, crafty inspiration, or just a laugh at life’s little absurdities, I hope you’ll find something that resonates.

If you fancy a chat about cats, comedy or the best veggie eats in Folkestone, drop me a line or say hi on social media – I love connecting with fellow foodies, creatives, and kindred spirits.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I found new inspiration in the form of Vegetarian Living while browsing in my local newsagents yesterday. This magazine really is fab for busy Mums like me, especially loved the colourful, easy to follow recipes.

  2. Check out Planet Veggie’s piece in the January issue of Cook Vegetarian, on sale December 2nd 2011. We find out what this blogger, and other veggies and vegans, eat for Christmas!

  3. Loved the Asparagus/swiss chard soup
